Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair

Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement (2.2L)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (2.2L) shown below.

3. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe to manifold flange bolts.
4. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the exhaust manifold pipe and new seal to the vehicle.
2. Install the exhaust manifold pipe to manifold flange bolts. 

Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe to manifold flange bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

3. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (2.2L) shown below.
4. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
