Cord Routing To Engine

Install or Connect

1. Apply a coating of lubricant to the O-ring seal and the cleaned surface of plug opening in the block. Use a water spray resistant, high-temperature

grease lubricant or equivalent.

2. The coolant heater to the block by pressing it tight into the block.

Important
-

When installing the heater element. Avoid element contact with the inside walls of the engine block.

3. Tighten the bolt until both locking wings draw tight against inner wall of engine block.

Tighten
-

Engine Coolant Heater Retaining Bolt to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).

4. Heater cord to the coolant heater and route heater cord.

Important
-

The heater cord must not touch the engine, hot pipes, manifold, or any moving parts.

5. Engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling cooling System in Engine Cooling.

Check the system for leaks.
