Position the steering wheel near the steering shaft with the arrow (1) at 12 o'clock.

Ensure that proper tooth (2) alignment to the steering wheel and the steering shaft has been achieved.
2. If installing the original steering wheel perform the following:

Position the steering wheel to the steering column.

Align the marks made during the removal of the steering wheel.
3. Push the steering wheel onto the steering shaft.
4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the steering wheel nut (2) to the steering shaft.
Tighten the nut to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
5. Unlock the steering column by removing the J 42640 from the lower trim cover access hole.
6. Install the inflator module.
7. Enable the SIR system.
