SERVICE INFORMATION

When replacing rear quarter windows, the hinges must be glued onto the glass before installation. This Service Bulletin describes the procedure for
locating and gluing hinges onto the rear quarter window glass.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

To attach hinges to window glass, American Isuzu Motors Inc. recommends using 3M Channel Bond

Adhesive # 8643. Follow adhesive manufacturer's instructions for proper use of adhesive.

Apply glue to back of lower hinge. Glue should not be more than 1 mm thick.

NOTE:
Measurements for alignment of hinges are made from 25 mm inside edge of glass, along the outside surface. See Figure 1.

Install lower hinge to window glass, aligning center of hinge 96 mm from bottom edge of glass. Press hinge firmly to glass.

4.

Apply glue to back of upper hinge. Glue should not be more than 1 mm thick.

5.

Install hinge to window glass, aligning center of hinge 335 mm from bottom edge of glass. Press hinge firmly to glass.

6.

Install rear quarter window as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

7.

Do not open rear quarter window for 24 hours after installation.
