Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Removal
1.
Loosen front master cylinder brake pipe attaching nut, then remove brake pipe. During removal of brake pipe, use care to prevent spillage of
brake fluid onto painted surfaces.
2.
Remove master cylinder to Master-Vac attaching bolts, then the master cylinder assembly from vehicle.
Installation
1.
Align master cylinder assembly and new gasket with attaching bolt holes in vehicle.
2.
Insert master cylinder to Master-Vac attaching bolts, then torque bolts to 8 to 11 ft. lbs.
3.
Install brake pipe assembly, then torque attaching nut to 9 to 14 ft. lbs.
