1985.5 - 1987 Impulse (JR) models with turbocharged engine.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Some models have tension adjustment markings on the alternator bracket When replacing the V-belt on vehicles with markings on the adjust plate,
follow the procedure described in this Service Bulletin.
SERVICE PROCEDURE Set new V-belt tension as follows:
1.
Loosen the set bolt

2.
Pull the alternator outward without applying any tension to the belt. Note the position of the alternator in relation to the markings on the adjust
plate (Figure 1).
3.
Pull the alternator further outward as far as the distance between one pair of markings on the adjust plate.
4.
Tighten the set bolt
NOTE If reinstalling an old V-belt, adjust the belt tension according to the instructions in the appropriate Workshop Manual.
