Parking Brake Shoe: Service and Repair
Reassembly
WARNING: Perform the lining surface brake-in when replacing the shoes with new linings and/or new brake discs (drums). See: Lining
Surface Break-In
1. Apply Molykote 44 MA grease to the sliding surface of the pivot pin, and insert the pin into the brake shoe.
Inserting Pin Into Brake Shoe
2. Install the parking brake lever and wave washer on the pivot pin, and secure with the U-clip.
NOTE: Pinch the new U-clip securely to prevent the pivot pin from coming out of the brake shoe.
Disconnecting Parking Brake Cable
3. Connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.
