Check distributor cap center contact for wear. Center contact should be .087 inch or longer.

Measure air gap between pickup coil projections using a feeler gauge. If air gap is not between .008-.016 inch, loosen two screws and move igniter
until gap is as specified.

4.

Turn rotor shaft counterclockwise, then release it. Ensure rotor returns slightly counterclockwise.

Assembly

To assemble, reverse disassembly procedure, noting the following:

1.

Attach weights to governor shaft, aligning the ``10'' mark with the stopper.

2.

Attach signal rotor to governor shaft, then apply grease to top of signal rotor  and seal with cover.

3.

When installing governor shaft, apply oil to shaft and washer.

4.

After installing new collar retaining pin, peen over ends using a suitable punch.

5.

When installing new collar, select washer cap to make clearance between collar and housing from .006-.020 inch.
