If a serial number(s) falls within the affected serial number range, replace the appropriate inner front seat belt.

REPLACING THE INNER FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT FOR RODEO (UC)/AMIGO (TC) MODELS

IMPORTANT NOTE: 

DO NOT CONTINUE TO PERFORM CAMPAIGN 96V-170 ON ANY 1994 ISUZU RODEOS EQUIPPED WITH A BENCH SEAT. With
respect to 1994 Rodeos equipped with a bench seat, the information relayed by Takata to Isuzu in 1996 erroneously specified the driver side
inner front seat belt buckle. The seat belt buckle this campaign (02V-281) applies to is the PASSENGER SIDE INNER FRONT seat belt
buckle.

1.

Unbolt the inner front seat belt anchor bolt.

IMPORTANT:

The new inner front seat belt contains all necessary hardware (anchor bolt, lock washer and toothed washer). Do not reuse any of the mounting
hardware previously removed.

2.

Install a new inner front seat belt (see Parts Information section) and secure it with the supplied mounting hardware. Torque the anchor bolt to 29
lb/ft (39 N.m).

3.

Test for proper inner front seat belt operation by inserting the latch tongue into the seat belt buckle, pulling firmly on the webbing to make sure
that the tongue latches and pressing the release button to make sure the tongue releases. Repeat this step five (5) times.

REPLACING THE INNER FRONT DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER SEAT BELT FOR PICKUP (TF) MODELS

NOTE: 

The following procedure applies to either the driver or passenger inner front seat belts. The driver inner front seat belt, however contains a
wire harness for the seat belt warning lamp that requires additional steps for this installation. These additional steps are clearly marked in this
procedure.

1.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Record the radio pre-sets and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

2.

Unbolt the inner front seat belt anchor bolt.

3.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Disconnect the driver seat belt warning lamp wire harness connector.

4.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Remove the four bench seat anchor bolts. Raise the seat to gain access to the seat belt warning lamp
wire harness connector located on the driver's side floor board.

5.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Disconnect the seat belt warning lamp wire harness connector and remove the inner front seat belt
and associated mounting hardware from the vehicle and lower the bench seat.

IMPORTANT: 

The new inner front seat belt contains all necessary hardware (anchor bolt, lock washer and toothed washer). Do not reuse any of the mounting
hardware previously removed.

6.

Install a new inner front seat belt (see Parts Information section) and secure it with the supplied mounting hardware. Torque the anchor bolt to 29
lb/ft (39 N.m).

7.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Connect the seat belt warning lamp wire harness connector.

8.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Lower the bench seat over the mounting holes and secure the seat with the four anchor bolts. Torque
the anchor bolts to 291b1ft (39 N.m) each.

9.

Test for proper inner front seat belt operation by inserting the latch tongue into the seat belt buckle, pulling firmly on the webbing to make sure
that the tongue latches and pressing the release button to make sure the tongue releases. Repeat this step five (5) times.

10.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Connect the negative (-) battery cable. Reset the clock and the radio pre-sets.

11.

(Driver Side Repair Only, where applicable) Check for proper seat belt warning lamp operation.
