Air Filter Element: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

Filters incoming air.

LOCATION

Within the air cleaner housing, on top of TBI unit.

OPERATION

Air flows into the air cleaner through the snorkel or THERMAC [1] unit. It then passes through the filter element. The filter element traps most of
the impurities.

CONSTRUCTION

The filter is a viscous type.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

It is strongly recommended by the manufacturer that only genuine ISUZU or an EPA certified air cleaner be used.

The engine must NEVER be operated without the air filter installed.

When re-installing filter, be sure to install correctly. Incorrect installation can result in fire if the engine backfires through the intake.
