SERVICE INFORMATION
Road vibration could cause the tailgate handle pivot mounting screw to loosen, resulting in rear hatch release inoperation.
To eliminate this condition, this Service Bulletin contains procedures for opening the rear hatch when the release is inoperable, and for tightening the
tailgate handle pivot mounting screw.
NOTE
On models equipped with an electric rear hatch release, the hatch will only open when:
-
the rear wiper is OFF, and in the park position.
-
on M/T models, the parking brake is set.
-
on A/T models, the transmission is in PARK or NEUTRAL.
