RODEO (UC) RUST ON SPARE TIRE CARRIER SWING ARM

AFFECTED VEHICLES

1991-92 Rodeo (UC) models equipped with exterior spare tire carrier.

SERVICE INFORMATION

When the spare tire carrier is opened, its swing arm may contact the binge, causing the paint to chip. If left exposed, rust will form at the chipped area.

To prevent the swing arm from contacting the hinges, install a rubber stopper at the upper and lower binges. To correct any chipped areas, black
touch-up paint which matches the swing arm is now available from AIPDN.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Refer to the "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin for rubber stopper and swing arm touch-up paint part numbers.

Install a rubber stopper at each spare tire carrier swing arm hinge. See Figure 1 for stopper location.

2.

If necessary, apply black touch-up paint to any chipped areas.
