Fuel Filler Cap: Testing and Inspection

3.2L

NOTE: Replace the fuel filler cap with the same type of filler cap that was originally installed on the vehicle.

1. Check the seal ring in the filler cap for any abnormality and for seal condition.
2. Replace the filler cap if any abnormality is found.

3.2L Rodeo

The fuel filler cap must be inspected for seal condition.  The fuel filler cap must be replaced if found defective.

CAUTION:  A replacement fuel filler cap must be the same as the original.  The fuel filler cap valve was designed primarily for this application and
must be replaced with the same type or decreased engine performance may occur.

3.2L Rodeo Sport

The fuel filler cap must be inspected for seal condition. The fuel filler cap must be replaced if found defective.
