Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Shackle

NOTE:  Raise the vehicle on a hoist and support the rear axle independently to relieve the tension on the leaf springs.

REPLACEMENT

1. Remove the nut and washer then remove the old shackle by driving out the shackle with a hammer, using a brass drift.
2. Before installing the new shackle, apply rubber grease to inside and outside of the rubber bushing.
3. Attach the shackle to the vehicle by tightening a nut and washer to 98 Nm (73 ft. lbs.).
