Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Brake Booster Removal And Installation

NOTE:  the vacuum booster cannot be disassembled for repair. Replace a defective vacuum booster with a new one.

REMOVE

1. Master Cylinder. See: Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation
2. Clamp.
3. Vacuum hose.
4. Instrument panel lower cover.
5. Lower cluster.
6. Meter cluster.
7. Driver knee bolster.
8. Vent duct.
9. Return spring.

10. Snap pin.
11. Pin.
12. Vacuum booster fixing nuts.
13. Vacuum booster.

INSTALLATION

1. Vacuum booster

NOTE:  If the push rod length is not equal to the specification, it must be adjusted.

Vacuum Booster Push Rod Length Adjustment

Apply 500 mmHg (197 in.Hg) of negative pressure to vacuum booster.
