Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
Left Hand Side

REMOVAL 
 
NOTE:  Battery ground cable
 

1. Air cleaner duct assembly
2. Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe fixing bolts and gasket

Remove from exhaust manifold.

3. 3rd crossmember & transfer under cover
4. Exhaust front pipe

Remove three stud nuts and three bolts and nuts, then disconnect front pipe.

5. Heat protector

^

Remove five fixing bolts, then the heat protector.

6. Engine hanger

^

Remove bolt and nut, then engine hanger.

7. Exhaust manifold

^

Remove seven nuts and remove exhaust manifold from the engine.

INSTALLATION 

1. Exhaust manifold [7]

^

Tighten nuts to 57 Nm (42 ft. lbs.) a with new ones.

2. Engine hanger [6]
3. Heat protector [5]
4. Exhaust front pipe [4]

^

Tighten three stud nuts and three bolts and nuts to:
-

Stud nuts 67 Nm (49 ft. lbs.).

-

Bolts and nuts 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.).

5. 3rd crossmember & transfer under cover [3]
6. Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe fixing bolts and gasket [2]

Tighten bolts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).

7. Air cleaner duct assembly [1]
