Low Fuel Lamp/Indicator: Testing and Inspection

LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT

1. Disconnect the fuel gauge sender connector.
2. Ground the harness side connector terminal 2 C-3
3. Turn the starter switch "ON" and check that the bulb lights.

If the Bulb does not light, inspect the bulb or cable harness.

LOW FUEL WARNING UNIT

1. Remove the fuel gauge sender.
2. Connect 2 C-3 to the battery (+) terminal through a 3.4 Watt bulb and 3 C-3 to the battery (-) terminal.
3. Turn the starter switch on and check that the bulb lights.
4. Submerge the warning unit in gasoline and check that the bulb goes out.

If preparation is not correct, replace the fuel gauge sender.
