3. Detach the nut and cotter pin from the relay lever then remove the relay lever from the center track rod using the J-36831 remover.

CAUTION: Be careful not to break the ball joint boot.

4. After removing the other components remove the center track rod assembly.
5. After removing the assembly, check the following parts: ball joint (boot, screws and tapered surfaces) then make any necessary corrections or parts

replacements if wear, damage, corrosion, bending, deteriorations or any other abnormal condition are found through inspection.

Measurements Are Nm (ft. Lbs.)

INSTALLATION

1. Install the center track rod assembly onto the vehicle.
2. Insert the nut and cotter pin onto the relay lever. Tighten the nut to 59 Nm (43 ft. lbs.) with just enough additional torque to align cotter pin holes,

then install the new cotter pin.

3. Insert the nut and cotter pin onto the pitman arm. Tighten the nut to 98 Nm (72 ft. lbs.) with just enough additional torque to align cotter pin holes,

then install the new cotter pin.

4. Insert the nut and cotter pins onto the center track rod assembly and tighten the nut to 98 Nm (72 ft. lbs.) with just enough additional torque to

align cotter pin holes, then install the new cotter pin.
