Ball Joint: Service and Repair
Upper
NOTE: - Before replacing the upper ball joint, perform the following:

Raise the vehicle and support the frame with suitable safety stands.

Remove the speed sensor from the knuckle (If equipped with ABS).
REMOVAL
1. Remove the nut and cotter pin then, using a J-36831 remover tool, remove the upper ball joint from the knuckle.
CAUTION: Be careful not to break the ball joint boot.
2. Remove the bolt and washer, then remove the upper ball joint.
3. Perform the following inspections after removing the ball joint.
