Control Arm: Service and Repair
Lower Control Arm
NOTE: Before replacing the lower control arm, perform the following:

Raise the vehicle and support the frame with suitable safety stands.

Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
^
Remove the outer track rod from the knuckle.
^
Remove the retaining ring from the front axle driving shaft to release the shaft from hub.
^
Support lower control arm with a jack.
REMOVAL
1. Remove the front and rear nut and washer.
2. Detach the torsion bar from the vehicle by first removing the arm bracket.
3. Remove the stabilizer link after disconnecting the link at the lower control arm.
4. Detach the shock absorber from the vehicle after removing the shock absorber lower end from the lower control arm.
5. Press out the lower ball joint then remove the lower ball joint from the lower control arm.
6. Remove the front and rear bolt.
7. Remove the lower control arm.
8. Remove the torsion bar arm bolt.
9. Remove the lower ball joint bolt.
