Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

NOTE:  Before replacing the stabilizer bar, perform the following:

^. Raise the vehicle and support the frame with suitable safety stands.

Remove the stone guard.

^. Remove wheel and tire assembly.

REMOVAL

1. Remove the nut and washer from the stabilizer bar. 

CAUTION: Be careful not to break the ball joint boot.

2. Remove the link kit.
3. Detach the bracket from the bar.
4. Remove the stabilizer bar from the vehicle.
5. Remove the rubber bushing from the stabilizer bar.

INSPECTION 

Make necessary correction or parts replacement if wear, damage, corrosion or any other abnormal condition are found through inspection. 

a. Stabilizer bar.
b. Rubber bushing.
c. Link ball joint.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the rubber bushing onto the stabilizer bar.
2. Attach the stabilizer bar onto the vehicle.
3. Attach the bracket around the bar and tighten the bracket bolts to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
4. Attach the link to the stabilizer bar.
5. Tighten the nut and washer on the bar to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
