Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Front Suspension
NOTE: Before replacing the shock absorbers, raise the vehicle and support it with suitable safety stands, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
REMOVAL
1. Remove the shock bolt, nut and washer.
2. Remove the mounting nut.
3. Remove the rubber bushing and washer then remove the shock absorber.
4. After removing the shock, inspect the following: shock absorber, and the rubber bushing then make any necessary corrections or parts
replacements if wear, damage, corrosion or any other abnormal condition are found through inspection.
INSTALLATION
1. Insert the rubber bushing and washer onto the shock.
2. Install the shock absorber onto the vehicle.
3. Attach the rubber bushing and washer then the nut onto the shock absorber, tightening the nut to 20 Nm (14 ft. lbs.) and the bolt to 82 Nm (61 ft.
lbs.).
