Heater Core: Service and Repair

HEATER UNIT / CORE
Removal Procedure

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and cover connector end with electrical tape, then drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect heater hoses from heater unit.
4. Remove instrument panel.
5. Remove resistor, then the duct.
6. Remove evaporator assembly.
7. Remove center ventilation duct, then the heater unit.
8. Remove duct, then the mode control case. Do not remove link unit.
9. Separate core case halves, then remove halves.

10. Remove heater core.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
12. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
