The top and bottom tailgate hinges are different. To avoid confusion and improper reinstallation, be sure to clearly mark which hinge is which prior
to removal.

7.

Remove the left-hand tailgate trim panel. Repeat this step for the right-hand tailgate trim panel.

Remove the right-hand rear combination light from the vehicle body (Figure 5).

Disconnect the right-hand tailgate harness connector (Figure 6). Pull the tailgate door harness and connector through to the rear of the vehicle
body.

Remove the two bolts holding the top and bottom left-hand tailgate hinges to the left-hand tailgate assembly and remove the tailgate assembly.
Repeat this step for the right-hand tailgate assembly.

11.

Remove the six bolts holding the top and bottom left-hand tailgate hinges to the vehicle body and remove the tailgate hinges. Repeat this step for
the top and bottom right-hand tailgate hinges.

NOTE

Clean the tailgate hinge mounting areas thoroughly to ensure good sealant adhesion.
