TROOPER (UX) CENTER CONSOLE LID POOR OPERATION

AFFECTED VEHICLES

1992-93 Trooper (UX) models.

SERVICE INFORMATION

On some affected vehicles, the center control lid latch may not operate effectively, causing difficulty in closing and unintentional lid opening. Installing a
new, magnetized latch and lid (listed in "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin) will eliminate this condition.

Follow the instructions in this Service Bulletin for installing the new center console lid and latch.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

See "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin for new center console lid and latch part numbers.

1.

Open the center console lid. Using a small screwdriver, carefully pry out the existing latch.

2.

Install the new latch as shown in Figure 1. Insert it fully into the slot.

3.

Remove the existing console lid (2 screws).

4.

Install the new console lid.
