b. Clean the area on the tailgate assembly where the tailgate hinge seal will sit, then remove the paper and press the tailgate hinge seal against the

tailgate assembly. Make certain that there are no gaps between the tailgate hinge, tailgate hinge seal, and tailgate assembly edges.

Pull the left-hand tailgate harness and connectors back into the vehicle body. Reconnect the harness and close the jack storage area cover.

19.

Pull the right-hand tailgate harness and connector back into the body. Reconnect the harness and install the right-hand rear combination light.

20.

Reinstall the tailgate stopper assembly to the left-hand tailgate assembly.

21.

Reinstall the spare tire assembly to the spare tire carrier. Tighten the three retaining bolts to 87 ft.lb.

22.

Reconnect the battery ground cable.
