AFFECTED VEHICLES
1992 Trooper (UX) LS models.
SERVICE INFORMATION
On some affected vehicles, the paint on the rocker panels (below the passenger doors) may become damaged by road debris and passenger entry/exit.
To prevent rocker panel damage, a protective film is now available from American Isuzu Parts Distribution Network (see "Parts Information" section of
this Service Bulletin).
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Clean all dirt, grease and tar from the rocker panel surface.
2.
If necessary, repair any existing rocker panel paint damage. Allow appropriate paint curing time before applying film.
3.
Wipe the rocker panel surface with a cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
NOTE:
The vehicle surface and the protective film must be at least 60 degrees F in order for the film to seal properly.
4.
Saturate the rocker panel surface with water, using a spray bottle. Under hot ambient temperatures, it may be necessary to add a small amount of
mild detergent to the water, for ease of film application.
5.
Remove the paper backing from the protective film.
6.
Thoroughly saturate the adhesive side of the film with water, using a spray bottle.
