Remove the wiring harness heat protector (Figure 6), located beside the oil pan.

Remove the starter (Figure 6).

On automatic transmission models only (Fig. 7)
a.
Remove the starter harness bracket fixing bolts and move the electrical harnesses away from the oil pan.
b.
Remove the flywheel dust covered oil cooler pipe clamp brackets located at the stiffener.
