SERVICE INFORMATION
On affected vehicles, the spare tire can be locked to the carrier by installing either a wheel lock or a padlock. Wheel lock sets are available from
American Isuzu Parts Distribution Network. (See "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin.)
If a padlock is used to lock the spare tire, Master F2-4 lock (with removable 3-1/4" hasp) or equivalent is recommended.
In order to install a padlock, the spare tire cover must be modified as described in this Service Bulletin.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
To install a padlock to secure the spare tire to the carrier, the spare tire cover must be modified as follows:
1.
Unzip and remove the spare tire cover vinyl material from around the front of the spare tire.
2.
Remove center wheel cap (if so equipped) from the spare tire.
3.
Trace the template in Figure 1. Cut along the dotted lines.
