EVAP Canister Vacuum Switching Valve: Testing and Inspection

Evaporative Emission Controls

1.

Disconnect solenoid electrical connector and vacuum hose from charcoal canister.

2.

Disconnect purge solenoid vacuum hose to throttle body, at throttle body.

3.

Blow into vacuum hose. No air should flow through valve.

4.

Energize solenoid by applying power and ground to electrical terminals while blowing into vacuum hose. Air should now flow through valve.

If not, replace solenoid valve.
