Position the new accelerator cable dust cover over the accelerator cable housing (see figure 3).

NOTE:

The dust cover slit must face down.

Slide the heat shrink tubing over the accelerator cable housing until the heat shrink tubing is flush with the end of the dust cover. Depending on the
accelerator fitting, trimming may be necessary to set the tubing flush with the dust cover (see figure 4).

NOTE: 

Do not trim the heat shrink tubing unless the heat shrink tubing contacts the accelerator cable bracket and extends beyond the dust cover.
