Remove the heater duct.
10.
Remove the shift lever assembly (6 bolts).
11.
Remove the backing from the noise insulation tape (listed in "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin). Affix the tape to the bottom of
the shift lever assembly, along the edges of the lip. See Figure 2.
12.
If necessary, trim any excess length from the tape.
13.
Reinstall the shift lever assembly (6 bolts).
14.
Reconnect the ignition key interlock cable.
15.
Reconnect the shift indicator connector and the WINTER/POWER mode switch connectors.
16.
Reinstall the heater duct.
17.
Reinstall the front console.
18.
Reinstall the transfer lever knob.
19.
Raise vehicle. Reinstall the cotter pin to the gear selector shift linkage.
20.
Reinstall the transmission skid plate.
