1984-91 Trooper II (KT) models.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Workshop Manuals for affected vehicles do not include ball joint inspection procedures and specifications. This Service Bulletin contains ball joint
inspection procedures and specifications for Trooper (KT) models.

NOTE Refer to the appropriate Workshop Manual for balljoint inspection procedures and specifications for Pickup (TF), Amigo (TC), Rodeo (UC) and
Trooper (UX) models.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Raise the vehicle on a hoist, then carefully lower it and support the front of the vehicle with jack stands placed under the left and right lower
control arms, at the outermost position.

2.

Ensure that the front and rear wheels are straight.

3.

Lower Ball Joint Measurement:

a.

Attach a dial gauge and stand to the lower control arm. Position the dial gauge parallel to the lower ball joint assembly, with the gauge
touching the tip of the threaded portion of the ball joint stud. See Figure 1.
