SERVICE PROCEDURE

Using a new rear disc brake pad kit (part No. 8- 97018-357-0), replace the rear disc brake pads on both sides of the vehicle.

IMPORTANT These new brake pads must be positioned correctly during installation, as follows. See Figure 1 and Figure 2.

Apply grease (provided in kit) to both sides of rubber-coated shims, to within approximately 1/8 inch of edges. See Figure 2.

2.

Install rubber-coated shims and stainless steel shims as shown in Figure 1.

The wear indicators of the outer pads must be on the top. The wear indicators of the inner pads must be on the bottom.

NOTE When reinstalling lower guide pin, torque to 14.5 ft.lbs.
