Service Procedure
INSPECTING THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE PIPE ASSEMBLY
1.
Check the clearance between the left front brake pipe assembly and the rear pivot of the left upper control arm.
NOTE
Proper clearance should be 10 mm minimum with the vehicle sitting on the ground at the proper height. A 5.5 mm valve guide driver J-41831 from
the Oasis Special Service Tool Package can be used as an inspection gauge for this procedure. The middle section of the tool measures
approximately 10 mm.
^
If the middle section of the inspection gauge (valve guide driver) passes between the rear pivot of the left upper control arm and the left front brake
pipe assembly, no further action is required. Go to APPLYING THE CAMPAIGN LABEL.
^
If the middle section of the inspection gauge (valve guide driver) does not pass easily between the rear pivot of the upper control arm and the left
front brake pipe assembly, the brake pipe assembly must be replaced with a new one. Go to REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE PIPE
ASSEMBLY - MODELS WITH ABS or REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE PIPE ASSEMBLY - MODELS WITHOUT ABS, as
appropriate. When repairs have been completed, go to APPLYING THE CAMPAIGN LABEL.
