Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
PREPARATION: Place a drain pan below the pump.
REMOVAL
1. Hose, suction.
2. Hose, flexible.
3. Adjust bolt.
4. Belt.
5. Bolt.
6. Pump assembly and pulley.
7. Pulley.
8. Adjust plate.
9. Pump assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. Pump assembly.
2. Adjust plate. Torque to 56 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
3. Pulley. Torque to 78 Nm (58 ft. lbs.).
4. Pump assembly and pulley
5. Bolt. Torque to 46 Nm (34 ft. lbs.).
6. Belt.
7. Adjust bolt. After adjusting drive belt tension, tighten bolt to specified torque. Torque to 46 Nm (34 ft. lbs.).
8. Hose, flexible. Torque to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
9. Hose, suction. Fill and bleed the system.
