Install the battery retainer and connect the battery ground cable.

Remove the 40 amp ABS fusible link (FL-6) from the under hood relay & fuse box.

Start the engine and bleed the left and right front brake calipers. Refer to Section 5A of the appropriate Workshop Manual for brake bleeding
procedure details.

When completed, turn off the engine and install the 40 amp ABS fusible link. Raise the vehicle and install the inner mud flap and left front wheel.
Tighten the wheel nuts to 87 lb. ft. (118 Nm) each. Lower the vehicle and check the front disc brakes for proper operation.

REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE PIPE ASSEMBLY - MODELS WITHOUT ABS

1.

Disconnect the harness connector from the mass airflow (MAF) sensor. Remove the air cleaner cover with the MAF sensor attached and the intake
duct.

Remove the EVAP canister and EVAP canister bracket.

3.

Raise the vehicle and remove the left front tire and inner mud flap. Lower the vehicle.

4.

Disconnect the left front brake pipe assembly from the left front brake flexible hose.

5.

Disconnect the left front brake pipe assembly from the master cylinder P & B valve. Discard the original left front brake pipe assembly.

6.

Connect the new left front brake pipe assembly (Part No. 8-97114-786-1) to the left front brake flexible hose. Tighten the fitting to 12 lb. ft. (16
Nm).
