ASSEMBLY

1. Second clutch drum (11)

2. Piston (10)

Install piston assembly into the second clutch drum. Lubricate the lip seal with liberal amounts of transmission fluid. Use the installer to
protect the outer piston lip seal.
Second clutch piston installer: J-23080-A or equivalent.

NOTE:  Lip of the seals point toward front of transmission.

3. Springs (9)
4. Spring seat (8)
5. Retaining ring (7)

Install twenty-two piston springs and spring seat on the second clutch piston. Place retaining ring onto spring seat.

Use the compressor J-23327 or equivalent to compress the piston springs.

NOTE:  Do not let spring seat catch in ring groove.

6. Waved plate (6)
7. Clutch plates (5)

Install clutch plates. Start with a steel plate and alternate with lined plates.

Align second clutch inner tangs.

8. Spacer (4)

Install spacer, with the fluted end toward clutch plates.

9. Retaining ring (3)

10. Ring gear (2)
11. Retaining ring (1)

Reverse Clutch Piston and Center Support
