Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
Actuation Unit
1.
Discharge hydraulic accumulator by depressing brake pedal until it becomes difficult to operate (approximately 20 times).
2.
Remove harness to right wing stay tie straps, set harness aside and remove wing stay.
3.
Place a shop rag or towel near accumulator to absorb any spilled fluid, then remove low pressure hose to pump securing clip.
4.
Disconnect hose, then remove and discard O-ring. Place end of hose in a container and drain fluid.
5.
Disconnect reservoir multi plug.
6.
Remove reservoir retaining clip bolt, then position aside.
7.
Disconnect low pressure hose and remove reservoir.
8.
Disconnect electrical connections. Place a shop rag or towel around valve block unions to absorb any spilled fluid, then disconnect lines from
valve block.
9.
Disconnect high pressure line.
10.
Remove pedal box to bulkhead bolts, then the actuation unit/pedal box assembly.
11.
Remove actuation unit to pedal split pin and clevis pin.
12.
Remove actuation unit retaining bolts, then the actuation unit.
13.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque high pressure line unions to 5-8.5 ft. lbs.
b. Torque pedal box to body bolts to 11-13 ft. lbs.
c. Torque reservoir retaining clip bolt to 4-6 ft. lbs.
