Catalytic Converter: Description and Operation
The three way catalytic conventers consist of palladium/rhodium coated elements. These elements are utilized to control the emissions of hydrocarbons
(HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from the engine.
The catalytic converters are connected to the exhaust manifold by a two bolt self-sealing flange. Exhaust jointing compound must not be applied to these
self-sealing joints due to the possibility of catalytic converter contamination.
