Backflushing

Backflushing 

1. CAUTION:  The heater core must be backflushed separately from the engine cooling system for correct backflush water flow direction through

the heater core. All engine cooling system flushing and backflushing procedures must Include a separate backflushing of the heater or A/C system
heater core after the flushing or backflushing of the engine cooling system to prevent the engine cooling system particles from clogging the heater
core tubes and reducing (or eliminating) coolant flow through the heater core. 

Disconnect the outlet heater water hose from the engine and install a garden hose with a female fitting adapter into the end of the heater outlet
water hose. Secure with a hose clamp.

2. Connect the female hose end to the heater outlet water hose to the male end of a water supply garden hose.
3. Disconnect the heater inlet water hose from the engine and allow it to drain into a suitable container.
4. Turn the water supply valve ON and OFF several times so that the surge action will help to dislodge larger, stubborn particles from their heater

core tubes. Allow water pressure to flow for approximately five minutes.

5. Remove the hose clamp and garden hose with the female adapter from the heater outlet water hose onto the engine.
6. Connect the heater inlet water hose onto the engine.
7. Fill the cooling system as described, using a 50/50 mixture of Jaguar Premium Cooling System Fluid E2FZ-1 9549-aa or -B (in Canada Motorcraft

CXC-8-B) or equivalent meeting Jaguar specification ESE-M97B44-A and water.

8. Test the system for correct heater performance with the specified engine cooling system conditions.
