SET Switch

When the SET switch is pressed with the vehicle travelling above 27 mile/h (43 kph) the system allows the vehicle speed to be maintained to ± 1 mile/h
(1.62 kph). Pressing the SET switch will increase or decrease the vehicle speed respectively until the switch is released. If the respective switch is
pressed momentarily, the speed will accelerate or decelerate in 1 mile/h increments.

Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Switch

If the brake pedal is depressed while the speed control system is active, the powertrain control module receives a signal from the brake pedal position
switch. This will allow the vehicle to return to the current throttle position as demanded by the throttle pedal.

Switch-Deactivator, Speed Control

If the brake pedal is depressed while the speed control system is active, the powertrain control module receives a signal from the speed control
deactivator switch. This will allow the vehicle to return to the current throttle position as demanded by the throttle pedal.

Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) Switch (with manual transmission)

If the clutch pedal is depressed while the speed control system is active, the powertrain control module receives a signal from the clutch pedal position
switch. This will allow the vehicle to return to the current throttle position as demanded by the throttle pedal.

The complexity of the electronics involved with the various electronic control modules and the multiplexed communication networks, preclude the use of
workshop general electrical test equipment. Therefore, reference should be made to the PDU User Guide for detailed instructions on testing the cruise
control circuit.

The PDU systematically tests and analyses all functions of the cruise control system.

Where a fault involving the cruise control circuitry is indicated by the PDU, before installing new components, some basic diagnostic methods may be
necessary to confirm that connections are good and that wiring is not damaged.
