AIR CONDITIONER LOW SIDE HOSE
To eliminate excessive air conditioner compressor noise, a one piece A/C Low Side Hose with muffler has been developed and introduced commencing
from VIN 526783. The new hose/muffler kit (JLM 1531), may be fitted to vehicles with excessive A/C compressor noise.
Installation Procedure:
1.
Discharge the air conditioning system.
CAUTION:
During discharging and charging of the air conditioning system, take all necessary safety precautions to prevent the possibility
of bodily injury and explosion.
2.
Remove the low side hose between the compressor and the expansion valve block.
NOTE:
The use of a 22 mm crow foot wrench will allow the removal of the low side hose at the evaporator without disturbing the high side hose.
Support the valve block during removal.
3.
Before installing the new hose, coat the O-rings with refrigeration oil.
4.
Install the hose and torque the compressor attaching plate bolt to 25 ft.lbs. (34 N-m).
5.
Using a tie wrap, attach the new hose to the high side hose. This will prevent the muffler from contacting the engine.
6.
Evacuate the system and recharge with 3 lbs. of refrigerant and 1/2 oz. of refrigeration oil.
7.
Leak test the system and check system operation.
