INACCURATE FUEL READINGS AT "FULL"
To provide accurate fuel gauge readings at full, a recalibrated fuel level transmitter has been introduced commencing from VIN 529109.
Revised fuel level transmitter installation is as follows.
Installation Procedure:
CAUTION: Take all necessary safety precautions to prevent the possibility of explosion and fire.
1.
Disconnect battery negative cable.
2.
Remove ALL fuel from fuel tank.
3.
Remove the spare wheel, carpet, and insulation.
4.
Note the position of the two wires connected to the transmitter and disconnect the wires.
5.
Using Service Tool 18G 1001, remove the lock ring by turning counterclockwise.
6.
Carefully remove the transmitter from the tank and discard the gasket.
7.
Install new fuel level transmitter and new gasket.
NOTE:
Check for fuel leaks after filling the fuel tank.
