Fuel Gauge Sender: Service and Repair
FUEL GAUGE TANK UNIT
RENEW
Open the bonnet and disconnect the battery earth lead.
NOTE: Observe all fire hazards.
Drain the fuel tank.
Open the luggage compartment.
Remove the floor carpet.
Remove the front liner.
Disconnect the tank unit supply leads.
Turn the tank unit securing ring using service tool 18G 1001.
Remove the securing ring.
Remove the tank unit.
Remove and discard the gasket.
Fitting a new tank unit is the reversal of the removal procedure.
Ensure a new sealing gasket and a new locking ring is fitted when the tank unit is fitted.
