KEY POINTS:

ENGINE HESITATION/MISFIRE

Engine hesitation/misfire, accompanied by inaccurate tachometer readings, could be the result of crankshaft sensor gear teeth damage. Such sensor tooth
damage could result in the sending of inaccurate signals to the ECU.

To prevent sensor tooth damage, revised component storage and handling procedures have been incorporated during vehicle manufacture.

CAUTION: When performing crankshaft front seal replacements, (or any other repair in the crankshaft sensor gear area), care should be taken to avoid

damaging the sensor gear teeth.
