Strut - Procedure For Bleeding
REAR SUSPENSION

KEY POINTS:
STRUT BLEEDING PROCEDURE
Knocking noises from the rear suspension area may be caused by air trapped in the power hydraulic system. The following system bleeding procedure
should be used for rectification:
WORK PROCEDURE:
1.
Elevate vehicle on a drive-on ramp (wheels must support weight of vehicle).
2.
Check power system fluid reservoir and top up as necessary. (See Caution).
3.
Start engine.
4.
Disconnect ride height sensor link at right rear suspension wishbone and raise 2-3 cm, (rear of vehicle will rise). Hold strut supply pipe and switch
off engine when pulsing is felt. (Relief valve blowing off).
5.
Open bleed nipple at top of left hand leveling strut and allow oil to flow into a clear container. (Vehicle will return to normal ride height). Close
bleed nipple.
6.
Check power system fluid reservoir and top up as necessary. (See Caution).
7.
Repeat operations 3 to 6 inclusive.
8.
Start engine and raise rear of vehicle via ride height sensor link. When supply pipe pulses, reconnect link to wishbone. (Vehicle will return to
normal height).
9.
Check power up system fluid reservoir and top up as necessary. (See Caution).
CAUTION: Use hydraulic system mineral oil only.
