Brake Bleeding: Service and Repair
Front Brakes

The following bleeding procedure is for all maintenance work except motor/pump unit, fluid intake hose, or actuation unit.

1.

Be sure vehicle is on level surface and standing still.

2.

Switch ignition OFF and discharge accumulator by operating brake pedal until it is difficult to engage (approximately 20 times).

3.

Be sure reservoir is approximately 2mm below bottom of filler neck.

4.

Bleed right-hand caliper first.

NOTE:The following procedure must be completed at a rate not faster than three seconds per cycle.

a. Open bleed nipple, fully depress brake pedal and hold.
b. Close bleed nipple after minimum of one second.
c. Release pedal slowly.

5.

Repeat until fluid flows air free.

NOTE:If more than 20 cycles are required, top up reservoir.

6.

Bleed remaining caliper using same procedure.
