The oil pressure transmitter which is used on 1990 MY sedan range vehicles (DBC 5513) should be used as a service replacement part on 1988 and 1989
MY sedan range vehicles.
NOTE:
The attachment thread on DBC 5513 is 3 mm shorter than the earlier oil pressure transmitter.
If an oil pressure transmitter has been overtightened during an earlier repair, the engine block threads will have become weakened through distortion. If
this has occurred, it will not be possible to tighten DBC 5513 to the correct torque specification.
A repair adaptor (JAG 121) incorporating an extended thread is available through Zone Parts Departments. The adaptor should be used if the engine
block threads are damaged due to overtightening the oil pressure transmitter. The adaptor is not required for all installations of DBC 5513 and should
only be installed where weakened/distorted threads exist.
The correct tightening torque for the oil pressure transmitter is 20 to 27 N-m (15 to 20 ft.lbs.).
