REVISED RIDE LEVEL SENSOR

Beginning with VIN 617978, a revised ride level sensor is incorporated on 1990 MY Sedan Range Vehicles (except base model XJ6) to prevent rear
suspension knock caused by a loss of trapped line pressure. In addition, a revised high pressure hydraulic hose (CCC 2625) was introduced beginning
with engine number 117202 (approximate VIN 613000).

The revised sensor incorporates a "pre-charge cycle". Approximately 40 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the suspension relay is energized for 5
seconds, charging the rear suspension.

NOTE:

The revised sensor (DBC 6170) can only be used on 1990 MY Sedan Range vehicles which incorporate the revised high pressure hose (CCC
2625). The revised ride level sensor should not be installed on 1988-1989 MY vehicles. This may cause damage to the solenoid valve block
pressure relief valve, which may result in reduced brake boost pressure.
